Solar energy as the main clean energy,was the national energy development direction of the 13 th five-year plan.Before the construction of solar photovoltaic power station,it was necessary to make rational planning and site selection,in order to reduce the cost of rational use of solar energy resources.In this paper,Geographic Information System(GIS)was applied to the site selection process of solar photovoltaic power station to realize the unified management of space and attribute data of solar energy resources in a certain area.The weights of the corresponding criteria for each factor were obtained by the method of pairwise comparison in the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP).The decision support for the development and utilization of solar energy resources was provided by combining the special spatial analysis functions such as buffer analysis and overlay analysis in GIS.There were many factors that affect the efficiency and economic benefits of photovoltaic power generation,such as solar radiation,transportation and distance.Relevant factors should be fully considered in the process of site selection of photovoltaic power station.Taking Yalong River Basin as an example,based on the observation data provided by National Meteorological Information Center and the data provided by geospatial data cloud,the spatial distribution characteristics of solar photovoltaic resources in Yalong River Basin were studied,and the most suitable areas for building solar power stations were concluded.The data of solar radiation and elevation,surface temperature and slope were analyzed.Spatial analysis of related factors such as slope direction,traffic condition,land type,distance from residential area and so on,and output the analysis results,It could be used as an effective site selection for solar power generation projects in yalong river basin to improve power generation efficiency and economic benefits,so as to solve the shortage of hydropower generation in the dry season of autumn and winter.
