A Study On The Application Of Mongolian Culture Elements From Yuan Blue And White Porcelain To Dining Space Design

Historically,the Mongolian people have developed unique aesthetic tastes and culture that unite with nature on the one hand and respect law and order on the other,which has subtly influenced the production and development of the Blue and White Porcelain of the Yuan Dynasty and brought innovation to traditional values.The relentless pursuit of individuality among ethnic groups and the shift of focus from mainstream culture to distinctive regional culture have inspired the dining space design that highlights ethnic regional characteristics.This paper intends to explore how to introduce Mongolian culture from Yuan Blue and White Porcelains to the dinning space by using modern design concepts and methods.Instead of simply duplicating Yuan Blue and White Porcelain elements,the paper emphasizes on a constant pursuit of new design concepts and techniques according to the patterns,shapes,design,and cultural connotations of the porcelain.First,the author has conducted the historical research to analyze and collect the relevant theoretical results.Second,the author focuses on analyzing representative cases.Finally,the author has carried out a field survey to investigate ethnic restaurants across China to gain an in-depth understanding of design methods and collect more information to support the research.Subject to modern space design principles and methods,the paper has extracted Yuan Blue and White Porcelain patterns by three methods-“element extraction”,“style unification”,and “atmosphere interpretation”,which are applied to the dining space without contradicting the rules of function,originality,and innovation.This article tries to extract the Mongolian cultural elements from Yuan Blue and White Porcelain and apply them to the dining space design so as to answer the call to inherit and develop the national culture,explore the uniqueness of local culture,connect the cultural bond,interpret the ethnic culture connotation,enhance the diversity and characteristics of national culture,and enrich the additions to the ethnic dining space design and modern design expression.
