With the development of intelligent driving and millimeter wave technology,millimeter wave radar is more and more widely used in the civilian field,and the importance of antennas is more prominent at this time.A high-performance antenna is crucial to the overall performance of the radar system.The advantages of low profile,small size,and easy integration of microstrip antennas show important application prospects in car radar field.In the millimeter wave field,as the wavelength becomes shorter,the overall size of the microstrip antenna decreases.When microstrip antennas form an array it can meet the high index requirements of all aspects of the radar system.The production of microstrip antenna array is simple,the printing cost is low,the reliability is high,the anti-interference is strong,and it can be integrated with the radar application system to improve the space utilization rate and reduce the overall space size of the radar.This paper mainly studies the microstrip antennas used in vehicle radar,and combines the theory to design microstrip array antennas in mainstream frequency bands,such as the 24GHz and 77GHz bands.Designed a microstrip array antenna for blind spot detection system(BSD)in the 24GHz band.The current distribution of the Dolph-Chebyshev array is used to control the sidelobe level.The transmitting antenna adopts a6×2 array structure,the E-plane half-power beam width is below 20~°,the HPBW of the H-plane is 45~°,the Sidelobe level is controlled below-18dB,the gain is 14.56dBi.Meet project requirements in terms of HPBW,gain and sidelobe level.The receiving antenna is one of the linear antennas of the transmitting antenna.In terms of improving the isolation between the receiving antennas,a decoupling structure is adopted to achieve the isolation improvement in the working bandwidth range.Then the design and research of 77GHz microstrip array antenna was carried out,which was used as an application antenna for the forward collision warning system(FCW).The overall performance meets the requirements of the antenna specifications.The array structure of the antenna array is 11×6,and the linear array with more units synthesize by the Taylor synthesis method is used.The HPBW of the E-plane pattern is9.9~°,and Dolph-Chebyshev synthetic method is used in the antenna array synthesis to achieve the HPBW of the H-plane pattern is 20~°,the gain of the antenna array is20.4dBi,and the Sidelobe level is controlled below-18dB,which satisfies the frequency band of the vehicle radar to the antenna application requirements.The research results of this paper can be used in the blind spot detection system(BSD)and forward collision warning system(FCW)in the field of vehicle radar,and it can provide reference for the design of array antennas in related frequency bands.
