Application Of “Weaving Design” Techniques In The Renewal Of The Old City "Xiongchulou" Community

In the process of urban development,because of the urbanization process or unreasonable interference,the traditional old city space in the old urban area has been seriously damaged,the urban texture has been fragmented,the historical context has been broken,the traditional culture and the spirit of the old city have disappeared,and the relationship between residents has become increasingly distant......These problems seriously affect the harmonious development of cities and old urban areas.How to solve the problem of urban development through space environment renewal design has become a challenge for urban planners,architects and landscape designers.Cities are both material and social phenomena.Old urban areas retain precious historical and cultural heritage and urban character,which are the most concentrated and prominent areas of contradictions among urbanization process,residents' needs and historical and cultural revival,and also the areas that best reflect the traditional spatial pattern of the city and the living conditions of the residents of the old city.In recent years,aiming at the fragmentation phenomenon in urban development,a new topic has emerged on the basis of “Collage City”,namely "weaving the city ".On this basis,this paper combines the concepts of "Weaving City" and "Weaving Life",expanding " weaving the city " from the field of urban planning to the field of environmental art design.This paper intensively studies the "Weaving Design" in the old city renewal design,and focuses on the "Weaving Design" technique and its design application in this field,in order to achieve the goal of "weaving urban texture,repairing historical context,inheriting traditional culture,maintaining social relations and continuing life style".This paper is based on the analysis of the evolution and design theory of old city renewal at home and abroad.Firstly,from the perspective of methodology,the theoretical basis,content,objectives and basic principles of "Weaving Design" are studied.Secondly,it focuses on the design elements and techniques of "Weaving Design".Finally,the "Weaving Design" is applied to the design practice of the old city renewal of the "Xiongchulou" community in Wuhan.This paper hopes to explore an effective and universally applicable design method in old city renewal design through a more systematic theoretical study combined with practical design cases.The technique of "Weaving Design" is the most important part of this research.In this paper,the characteristics of collage,knitting,repairing,stitching,wedging and overlapping design techniques and related application cases are deeply studied.In the old city renewal design of Xiongchulou community,different design methods are applied to different design objects of the old community,including the collage and overlapping of public space,the repairing and collage of building facades,the comprehensive application of landscape "Weaving Design" techniques,the knitting of traffic flow lines and roads,the repairing and collage of public facilities,the repairing and knitting of history and culture,the knitting and repairing of social relations.Through the "Weaving Design",the "Xiongchulou" community will be built into a new community with the characteristics of "harmony","suitable","red" and "livable".
