In recent years,the rapid development of urban public transportation,the interaction between rail transit construction and commercial space development has gradually become a hot topic in urban and rural planning and economic geography research.In the existing urban public transportation system,rail transit has become an effective tool for improving the efficiency of public transportation in large and medium-sized cities due to its large volume,high safety factor,fast and convenient,and it is also an important part of the urban public transportation system.The construction process of rail transit accelerates the adjustment of the commercial space layout along the line to a certain extent.The planners want to realize the compact and high-density development of the commercial space along the line through the rational planning of the commercial space structure along the rail transit,and promote the prosperity and development of the city economy.The most active areas of retail commercial space business along the rail transit site are mainly the surrounding areas of the station(station area).The degree of economic benefits is generally determined by various factors such as site construction,spatial distance,land development and market competition.The rail transit station mainly enhances the economic value of the surrounding commercial space by attracting a large number of passenger flows and optimizing the commuting efficiency.At the same time,the evaluation of the commercial space value and the development intensity also indicates the spillover effect of the rail transit station on the surrounding commercial space.Deepen understanding of the role of rail transit stations in the surrounding retail business.Taking 23 stations operated in Changsha Rail Transit Line 2 as the object,this research adopts systemic clustering method(R-type)to divide retail business space types in the rail transit stations,which is based upon four factors’ characteristic index extraction and calculation including station construction,space distance,land development and market competition.Then,information entropy,balance degree and the nearest-neighbor distance model are applied to make a quantitative analysis on the structural features and agglomeration degree of different retail business types,and to explore into the mechanism of rail transit influencing retail business structure around.As shown in the results: 1)Changsha Rail Transit Line 2 commercial space can be divided into four types: urban center type,regional key type,transportation hub type,and urban function type;2)There are significant differences in the types of business,the structure of the industry,and the spatial aggregation of retail space in different types of sites,among which urban center station shows the most balanced retail business space and abundant business types,while transportation hub and station and some of the regional key stations(Yingwanzhen,Wangchengpo and Wanjiali Square)have the highest agglomeration degree of retail business space and professional level;3)The basic characteristics of retail commercial space around each type of site can be summarized into four aspects: urban center type — largescale,leading city-level commercial center;regional key type — new integrated and highquality regional commercial center;transportation hub type — specialized,centralized business center;urban functional type — fragmented,singular small and medium business center.4)The impact of rail transit construction on different types of retail commercial space is mainly as follows: consolidate the dominant position of urban central retail commercial space;strengthen the specialization of regional key retail commercial space;increase the concentration of transportation hub-type retail commercial space;enhance the accessibility of general functional retail commercial space.5)The impact mechanism of Changsha Rail Transit Line 2 on the surrounding retail commercial structure: Rail transit mainly affects the intrinsic characteristics of different retail commercial space types and their industrial forms,industrial structure and spatial layout,and with consumer behavior,External factors such as the adjustment of public policies affect the retail retail space pattern of the site.
