At present,more and more application fields urgently need precision ranging and high-precision time synchronization functions.For example,in the military field,it is necessary to accurately measure the trajectory of artillery shells or missiles;in the field of UAV collaboration,it is required to accurately control the relative position between drones.These applications require the support of precision ranging technology and time synchronization technology.The common time synchronization methods now rely on satellite navigation systems,and DOWR technology can independently complete the ranging and time synchronization functions without the assistance of satellite navigation systems.It can also be combined with the communication system to achieve the integration of communication and measurement..The main research content of this article is to design and use FPGA to implement dual terminal ranging and time synchronization system based on DOWR technology,and test the measurement accuracy of the system.When researching DOWR related technologies,this paper first gives the basic principles of DOWR,analyzes the reasons that affect the measurement accuracy,and describes the method of delay calibration.In order to improve the measurement accuracy of the timer in the system,this article discusses a variety of time interval measurement methods,and finally chooses to use clock phase shift technology to design a highprecision timer.According to the complexity of the implementation of the equipment and the requirements of the actual rate,the direct sequence spread spectrum technology was selected in terms of information transmission,and the overall hardware structure of the system was designed.In terms of the hardware implementation of the system,this article first selects the hardware,completes the spread spectrum of the signal at the transmitter,and despreads,synchronizes,and demodulates the signal at the receiver.Then combined with the clock phase shift technology to achieve one ns-level high-precision timer inside the system.Finally,the DOWR-based signal convergence process between the two terminals is realized,and the distance delay and clock difference between the terminals are calculated.Based on this,the overall performance of the system is tested,and its accuracy basically meets the requirements.
