Abstract/Summary:
With the transformation of production methods and the continuous development of urbanization,traditional brick-and-mortar bookstores have gone through the stages from initial counter sales to open shelves sales,large bookstores,specialty bookstores and large bookstores.The booming development of Book City architecture is in line with the transf ormation of consumption patterns,which meets people’s one-stop consumer experience and space experience needs.Studying the architectural space of Book City from the perspective of consumer culture can provide new design concepts in addition to theoretical knowledge and space environment,and find breakthroughs in space design.Through in-depth research on consumer culture-related theories,it is concluded that in the context of consumer society and culture,the consumption of construction goods has two significant changes,namely,from "consumption in space" to "consumption in space";In addition to the "use value" of goods,it is more important to have "symbol value".Based on the origin,development and evolution of the book malls and the exploration of the book mall business model,the article concludes that the deep-seated development of the book mall architectural space represented by the Shenzhen book mall is due to the change of space value.Based on this,combined with the development trend and prob lems of the book mall architectural space,this paper summarizes the development characteristics and problems of the book mall architectural space from three perspectives: social value,material value,and artistic value.According to the consumption purpose,consumption process and consumption environment in the consumption experience,establish a corresponding spatial experience process: induction of experience-unfolding of experience-sublimation of experience,and proposes three new design concepts for arc hitectural space design of book city,including the multiple functions of cultural consumption,the exchange and sharing of space under the influence of experience consumption,and the scene creation of space under the influence of symbol consumption.Based on the investigation and analysis of excellent book malls and bookstore cases at home and abroad,a systematic summary of the design strategies and design methods of the book city’s architectural space under the guidance of consumer culture in terms of functional configuration,sequence architecture,and scene creation,including the initial space under cultural influence Function setting and secondary function deduction,space combination design and space dynamic line design under the influence of experience consumption,space scene construction and space atmosphere rendering under the influence of symbol consumption,provide a theoretical framework and basis for design practice.
