Research On The Design Of College Bicycle Parking Facilities Based On Campus Cultural Symbols

With the rapid development of green travel and shared bicycles,bicycle travel on campus has become mainstream.The increasing number of bicycles makes the problem of lack of parking facilities more prominent,and affects the campus landscape environment seriously.In order to solve this problem,colleges and universities vigorously carry out the construction of campus bicycle parking facilities.However,most colleges and universities failed to proceed from the perspective of campus culture when designing,lacking design awareness,and unable to reflect the characteristics and cultural connotation of the campus.In order to give full play to the functions of bicycle parking facilities to support campus culture,enhance the cultural atmosphere in schools,and beautify the campus environment,this project carries out the following work:At the theoretical level,this paper first elaborates the relevant theories of the design of campus bicycle parking facilities,the main contents of which include the design principles and design elements of campus bicycle parking facilities.Combined with the ergonomics theory and the relevant design standard promulgated by the government,this paper makes a scale analysis of bicycle parking facilities on campus.Then combined with the relevant theories of semiology,it analyzes the design method of bicycle parking facilities integrated with campus culture,which mainly includes the extraction method and design application of campus cultural symbols.And based on the communication theory of symbols,it constructs a basic design process that guides the design of campus bicycle parking facilities,which has a guiding significance for the entire design practice.In the practical part,first of all,by taking the design of bicycle parking facilities in South China University of Technology as the research object,and based on the above theoretical research,this paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of campus bicycle parking.Then,it investigates,organizes and analyzes the current status of campus parking in South China University of Technology and the needs of teachers and students,by using field surveys,questionnaires and other methods.The use requirements of teachers and students are investigated,sorted out and analyzed,and the existing problems are summarized and solutionsare proposed in a targeted manner.Then based on the previous research results,and guided by semiotic theory,it collects and sifts campus culture,and then refines and innovates cultural symbols in terms of shapes,materials,colors,etc.Then it transforms cultural materials into design symbols and applies them to the design of campus bicycle facilities.It finally conducts a design evaluation of the plan,and verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the design achievements in order to obtain a set of bicycle parking facilities with campus cultural characteristics and identification functions,and realize the function of carrying campus culture in the form of campus bicycle parking facilities.This paper can provide a research reference for exploring new trends and methods of campus construction in the future,and provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for solving the problems of bicycle parking and the lack of campus cultural construction.
