Very Large Floating Structure(VLFS)is getting more and more attention in the field of marine development. It can be used as a maritime airport,a maritime military base,a maritime pasture and a city, etc.,and is of great significance for strengthening the utilization and management of the ocean. The connector is the most fragile but very important structure in the VLFS.Under the complicated marine environmental conditions, the influence of the connector on the movement of the floating structures and the connector load analysis are a key technical research for the VLFS.The research object of this paper is the rigid module flexible connector(RMFC)model, which mainly studies the effect of different connection methods on the floating module movement and connector loads.According to the relevant theories of floating structures motion theory, wave theory and three-dimensional potential theory,AQWA hydrodynamic calculation software is used to calculate the hydrodynamic response of single-module and three-module VLFS,and the motion response transfer function and wave excitation force response of each module are obtained.Characteristics, and then analyze the influence of the hydrodynamic interaction between floating modules on the movement between VLFS modules and the first-order wave force;under the condition of considering the hydrodynamic interaction between the above floating structures modules, flexible connectors(ball and socket, universal joint, hinged joint)and fully rigid connectors for frequency domain analysis. The analysis includes: under different wave angles, without considering the mooring system,1)analysis of the motion response characteristics of the VLFS module to study various connections the ability of the controller to restrict the movement of the module;2)Analyze the load response of the connectors between the modules to study the peak load characteristics of various connectors at different wave angles and determine the dangerous sea conditions. The analysis and discussion of flexible connectors and fully rigid connectors in this article have certain reference significance for the connector design of VLFS.
