As an important platform for human beings to develop and utilize marine resources in the future,the Very Large Floating Structure(VLFS)has advantages of low cost,flexible structure and friendly to the ecological environment.According to the structural characteristics of VLFS.As a new high performance ship,trimaran has a bright future in military because of its wide deck area,fast speed and seakeeping.In this paper,an efficient method combining Monte Carlo method with potential flow theory is proposed to optimize the motion response of floating bodies in waves.The side-hull layout of the first using the method of changing the trimaran to optimize its motion response.The selection can simultaneously reduce the roll,pitch and heave motion response is an optimization scheme.The Monte Carlo method is used to determine the position of the side-hull.The AQWA software is used to calculate the motion of the trimaran of different schemes,and the motion response under the regular wave is obtained.According to the frequency domain calculation results,the maximum response of the trimaran under irregular waves is obtained by spectral analysis method,and the optimal scheme is selected from all schemes.The selected optimal solution is consistent with the experimental results in the literature,indicating that it is feasible to optimize the motion response of the floating body in wave.Then the method is used to optimize the motion response of VLFS.The Monte Carlo method is used to select the misaligned angles of the two rows of columns.The AQWA software is used for calculation and analysis to obtain the law.The results show that in the regular wave,changing the arrangement of the column has little effect on the roll motion of VLFS with the pitch motion is obviously improved.The heave motion is related to the misalignment angle,and the elevation can be improved below 10°.In irregular waves,when the misalignment angle of the two rows of columns is below 10°,the roll and pitch motion of VLFS can be improved,and the arrangement of the columns is improved.Little impact on the heave motion.Finally,by changing the horizontal position,vertical position and staggered angle of the column,a series of schemes are selected by Monte Carlo method to calculate the motion response of the VLFS under the action of multiple factors and to select the optimal scheme.
