With the rapid development of global economy,society and culture,the tertiary industry is rising rapidly,people's pursuit of the quality of business shopping environment and public space is constantly improving.In line with this trend,the modern urban shopping park emerges at the historic moment.It breaks through the traditional closed commercial form and actively involves into the overall circulation system of the region to perform multiple functions with highly complex functions and intensive land use.Especially in the harsh winter cold area,shopping park to its external public space of humanized design for the consumer to build "all-weather" shopping,entertainment,recreation,communication meeting space,in addition to solve the problems of seasonal activity,scattered space,rich site function and urban vitality,so popular.This paper takes the external public space of shopping park in the cold region as the object of study.By analyzing,summarizing and summarizing the domestic and foreign scientific research literature and successful cases,it systematically defines the related concept and connotation,and reasonably divides the four categories of traffic type,collection and distribution type,leisure type and landscape type from the perspective of function.According to its spatial characteristics of openness,complexity,accessibility,identification and cold adaptation,the functions of external public space in shopping park in cold region in terms of space integration,business and leisure,transportation,landscape culture and climate regulation are explained.At the same time for the current trend of development and consumer behavior and psychology,It is advocated that the design should not only stay in the material elements themselves,but also extend to the planning,use and spiritual levels in coordination with the complex environment,so as to put forward the design principles and effective design methods suitable for cold areas in five aspects of space exploitation,function overall planning,traffic planning,landscape construction and architectural creativity.Finally,this paper takes Harbin Hong Bo central park as an example to carry out practical exploration.Based on the interpretation of project location background,surrounding environment,design positioning,the crowd characteristics analysis,current situation of use and demand tendency,building on the basis of the spatial organization,business,leisure to expand,traffic streamline as the guidance,landscape culture as the business card,smart shopping park of architectural design to focus the external public space.To enhance the charm of the site,the development of the kinetic energy,catalyzed the cold area of business places to leisure and entertainment park type business transformation,to achieve social benefits and economic benefits of double win-win.
