With the advent of experience economy, people’s consumption style changed fromsingle physical needs to the pursuit of spirit level, like entertainment and leisure. As akind of new values, the high level consumption pattern profoundly changed theconnotation, space and its revenue model of commercial pattern, which speed up itstransformation to leisure and entertainment. Meanwhile, Along with the developmentboom of commercial recreation resources, leisure activities with park style tend tocombine with shopping activities, which not only meet the business requirements butalso have recreation function so as to promote the development of shopping patternemphasized the concept connotation of leisure entertainment with park style. Comparedwith traditional business, the core emphasized by shopping park changed from"building" to "place" and the space of shopping park transferred from the consumptioncarrier to a subject of consumption. Its exterior space substitutes its interior space as aplace for people’s activities, such as shopping, relaxation and communication, etc. toget the distance between people and building, people and city, architecture and citycloser, providing an important significance for urban development.Based on the experience consumption patterns as a starting point, from theperspectives of society, economy and culture, this article illustrates the research objectfrom the below aspects step by step.Firstly, it briefly introduces the background of shopping park and then detailedlydescribes domestic and foreign present situation and research about the development ofexperience economy, commercial buildings and shopping park, put forward this paper’sresearch purpose, significance and innovation, establishes the research method andsystem and builds the frame structure of the thesis.Secondly, it briefly describes the relevant theories of shopping park, introduces itsdevelopment, summarizes its rise factors, clear shopping park’s concept and deepens itgradually, and analyzes its unique connotation and concept from the aspects of scale,layout, subject and several other characteristics.Thirdly, it interprets outer space reflecting its connotation and idea, analyzes itsspace location and natural features, compares three aspects of concept, space and designwith traditional business, summarizes outer spaces’ function value from the aspects oflife, space, ecology and culture, etc, with its unique spatial features. Fourthly, with the background of experience consumption, it analyzes the relationsbetween experiential consumption and commercial space, summed up the influencescaused by the transformation of consumption on outer space design of shopping park.At the same time, from multi-level aspects, such as urban, planning, location andconsumers, etc, it puts forward the external space design content updates with thebackground of experiential consumption.Finally, combining the experiential consumption influencing factors, it outlines theguidelines of current shopping park exterior space design and puts forward the designstrategy of the corresponding design content. By integrating the overall planning of thecity, revealing the theme planning of culture, inducing participated site space,stimulating the place atmosphere created by experience, and emphasizing the fuctionaldetails provided by place spirit, it makes a further discussion about design strategy.
