Research On Construction Techniques And Renewal Application Of Traditional Dwellings In Fenghuang Ancient Town Of Zhashui County

Construction techniques are the core of the construction of traditional dwellings,the important physical carrier of human society and history,and contain unique local culture and folk wisdom.However,the defects caused by long-term use and increasing modern requirements make traditional dwellings face the risk of being abandoned.Moreover,in the past few years,research on traditional dwellings in China mostly focused on space and form.Few related researches on traditional construction techniques were done by researchers,so the progress of protection and inheritance developed very slowly.It is imminent to protect and renew the construction techniques of traditional dwellings.Since the Tang Dynasty,Fenghuang Ancient Town in Zhashui County has attracted merchants and people from all over the north and south to live here.Under the influence of different cultures coming from many other places,it has gradually formed a Jianghan style traditional dwelling with Qin style and Chu charm.Nevertheless,for the same reason,the traditional dwellings and its construction techniques in the ancient town have gradually disappeared.This paper takes the traditional dwellings bulit in Ming and Qing Dynasties on both sides of Fenghuang old street in Fenghuang Ancient Town of Zhashui County as the research object,and takes its traditional construction techniques as the main research content.By the use of the field investigation and mapping surveys for relevant data,interviews with craftsmen and residents in the ancient town,comprehensive use of literature,summary,experimental analysis and other research methods,the traditional construction techniques have been recorded and renewal methods of ancient town dwellings have been discussed.First of all,on the basis of the geographical environment and cultural background of the ancient town,this paper discusses the architectural characteristics and current situation of the ancient town in detail,discusses the relationship between the existing problems of traditional dwellings and construction techniques,and then analyzes the inheritance and renewal of construction skills in the process of updating traditional dwellings.Next,it summarizes the construction techniques of traditional dwellings in Fenghuang Ancient Town which mainly includes the overview of construction system,construction process,construction materials,artisans and other construction techniques,as well as the construction technology research of load-bearing structure,enclosure structure,decoration and other system contents.Based on the existing traditional construction techniques and guided by the existing problems of traditional dwellings,this paper puts forward corresponding renewal strategies of construction techniques for different structural systems,so as to improve the architectural performance of traditional dwellings.The renewal strategy includes the integration of new materials,new technologies with traditional construction techniques,the optimization of construction process,and the improvement of construction tools.Then,it selects a typical construction named Dang Courtyard,uses the updated construction technology to optimize and improve it.Through the simulation and comparative analysis of the internal environment before and after the transformation,verify the effectiveness of the update measures and put forward conclusions.At last,it summarizes the previous paper,and makes clear the shortcomings and development space.Through the research,it has been finished the record of the construction techniques of the traditional dwellings in Fenghuang Ancient Town,Zhashui County,and analyzed as well as summarized the wisdom and advantages of the traditional dwelling construction techniques.In view of the existing problems of traditional dwellings,it has put forword that protection of the features of traditional dwellings should be the premise.Under it should organically integrate modern technology and materials with traditional methods,so that the traditional construction techniques could be optimized and improved.It then summarizes the ways of renovation of traditional dwellings techniques mentioned before.The case study at the end proves that the renewal and optimization of construction technology is very effective for improving the performance of traditional dwelling environment.
