There are more than 5000 traditional villages and countless traditional dwellings in China.To improve the protection of traditional villages and traditional dwellings is the dual needs for cultural heritage and economic development.At the same time,there are a large number of C-level or D-level dilapidated buildings in these traditional dwellings with distinctive features,which need to be reinforced.However,most of the traditional dwellings have been built for a long time and have original structural defects.The safety cannot be achieved by traditional reinforcement alone.In this case,the research group adopted the way of retaining external wall and rebuilding the interior to renovation and strengthen these buildings.However,there is currently no corresponding standard or unified design method for the way.Therefore,based on the actual project designed and constructed by the research group,this kind of reconstructed building was studied in this paper.The main research work and results are as follows:(1)The actual rural houses should be reinforced.We need to evaluate and analyze the safety of each component of the house and confirm to use the way of retaining external wall and rebuilding the interior to renovation and strengthen these buildings.What more,we will participate in the design and construction.Then,we should find out the difficulties of structural transformation,summarize the design elements of structural transformation,design the structural transformation scheme,and determine the construction process and other transformation technical measures.(2)Thirty six finite element models were established to study the different mechanical properties of the brick wall reinforced by the single-sided reinforced mortar surface when it bent to both sides out of plane,and to obtain the load-displacement curve when the wall bent to different sides.By comparing the calculation results of different reinforced surface walls,the influence of the calculation results of reinforced surface thickness and strength and reinforcement ratio on the out of plane performance of walls was studied.(3)The internal force of the external wall retention and internal reconstruction building under the horizontal action of earthquake and other levels was studied.And the main working mode of the structure under the horizontal action of earthquake and other levels was also studied combined with the special out of plane performance of the external wall.The structure was simplified into a two-dimensional calculation diagram for theoretical analysis,and verified by finite element numerical simulation.The interaction between the external wall and the new internal structure was determined,and the internal force calculation formula of the connection system between the internal and external parts was obtained.To sum up,the way of retaining external wall and rebuilding the interior can effectively improve the ductility and safety of the buildings and can be extended to rural areas.The stress state of this kind of reconstructed houses under the horizontal action of earthquake and other levels also has certain specificities.And mastering the internal force distribution law of the building is of great practical significance for the renovation design of such houses in the future.
