Disc cutter is the primary tool for rock breaking of the tunnel boring machine.The wear of disc cutter will accelerate the loss of disc cutter ring,reduce the tunnelling speed of tunnel boring machine,and it is necessary to stop the machine and replace the cutter in time,so that the whole construction time will be longer and the efficiency will be reduced.If the cutter is not replaced in time,it will cause the cutter unable to work normally,and all the cutters of the whole cutter head will be damaged seriously,Extremely affects the construction progress.Therefore,it can predict the wear of the disc cutter and guide the timely replacement of the cutter,which will reduce the construction cost and time.Firstly,this paper aimed at the prediction of disc cutter wear of tunnel boring machine through theoretical analysis.The main cause of disc cutter wear in the actual tunnelling process is the sliding friction between the disc cutter and rock.Based on the principle of friction work,the wear formula of disc cutter is derived,and the hypothetical model of disc cutter wear prediction is established.Secondly,in order to determine the parameters in the theoretical model of disc cutter wear prediction,based on the elastic-plastic theory and Hertz contact theory,respectively,which describe the rock breaking mechanism of disc cutter,and according to the different rock simulation methods of finite element method and discrete element method,the dynamic rock breaking simulation model of disc cutter based on ABAQUS finite element method and the dynamic rock breaking simulation model of disccutter based on EDEM discrete element method are established.In order to predict the wear amount of disc cutter at different positions on the cutterhead,the vertical force Fn and wear volume Vp in the theoretical model of disc cutter wear are determined according to the tunneling parameters,disc cutter structure parameters and geological parameters And the parameters such as the slip amount Sp,etc.have realized the engineering application of the theoretical model of disc cutter wear prediction.Finally,based on the actual project cutter wear data,this paper analyzes the corresponding relationship between the disc cutter position number and the disc cutter wear amount,and then compares the established disc cutter wear prediction model to calculate the wear amount of different position numbers,which verifies the correctness of the disc cutter wear prediction model.The research results show that the wear prediction model of disc cutter has good accuracy,which is of great scientific significance and practical value in engineering for the wear prediction of disc cutter of tunnel boring machine and the guidance of the tool change.
