With the need of rapid excavation of underground engineering and improving the science and technology level, TBM was rapid applied in underground engineer constructions, such as construction of subway and orbit traffic. The development of TBM application and construction of underground space engineering have induced the growing attention of related government departments and businesses to the investment in the employment of shield machine in the underground tunnel Projects.TBM is not only widely used in a uniform stratum, but also in complex ground.Disc cutter is an important tool of TBM to crush the rock during excavating tunnel, cracking efficiency of it directly impacts on the construction effieieney. To date, the research on disc cutters wear of TBM in complex ground is still in its initial stage. Based on wide reading and in-depth study of the related articles and books centering on the rock breaking theory and cutter abrasion mechanism, the disc cutter wear prediction model of TBM in complex ground will be established. The specific content of this paper include:(1) Analysis the failure mechanism of rock under the action of the disc cutter, the prosess of disc cutter wear produced, The reason and influence factors of disc cutter wear:To study the mechanical properties of disc cutter, disc cutter wear mechanism, the prosess of disc cutter wear produced and the wear form of disc cutter common, to provide the theoretical basis for the establishment of prediction model.(2) The method of establishing finite element model of disc cutter breaking process using ANSYS Workbench software is introduced. The performance evaluation, modal analysis and reliability analysis of cutter and cutterhad are finished based on finite element method. The result verifies the design of the cutter and cutterhead and meets the performance requirements in different operating conditions.(3) Describes prediction model of CSM performance and prediction model of energy method, the TBM prediction model in complex ground is established by combining the advantages of prediction model of CSM performance and prediction model of energy method and under the base of above the dissertation studies TBM prediction in complex ground. According to the engineering practice of Qinling Mountains tunnel, a quantification study have been maked on TBM disc cutter wear level, the prediction result is matched with the actual result,verified the validity of the model.(4) Prediction model of TBM disc cutter wear in complex ground are derived from TBM prediction model, verify the proposed model by using the existiong TBM construction data, the prediction result is matched with the actual result, accurately judge the tool wear condition.
