With the expansion of population and rapid economic development, the traditional energy resources are becoming unsatisfied, which leads to the imbalance of energy supply and demand, and brings serious crisis to human survival and development. At present, only the biomass conversion technology in the more mature renewable resources is likely to take the responsibility of replacing the petrochemical products and developing the chemicals and materials in the future. The development and utilization of biomass energy include direct combustion, biochemistry, gasification and liquefaction. With the development and progress of modern science and technology, the waste of resources and environmental pollution caused by the traditional way of direct combustion will be gradually replaced. At present, the conversion of biomass into bio-oil by liquefaction is an important technology. In this paper, corn stalk was used as raw material and anhydrous ethanol as solvent to prepare bio-oil by liquefaction.Three main factors include reaction temperature, reaction time and the amount of ethanol added, were selected as variables to explore their effects on the distribution of liquefaction products. The product distribution of bio oil was analyzed by GC-MS,the functional group structure of solid residue was analyzed by FT-IR,and the element composition of solid residue was analyzed by element analyzer. The results showed that the best liquefaction conditions of corn stalk were:reaction temperature 350?,reaction time 30 minutes, mass ratio of corn stalk to ethanol 1:3.Under these conditions, the solid conversion rate of corn stalk was 55.42%,and the yield of bio oil was 56.56%.GC-MS analysis shows that the main components of bio oil are esters,phenols,long-chain alkanes and aromatic compoundsThe experiment shows that ethanol can promote the transformation of corn stalk, which may be divided into two stages:the first stage is mainly from supercritical extraction of ethanol and ethanol can promote the break of ether oxygen bond in corn straw;the second stage is the reaction between free radicals produced by ethanol heated and the pyrolysis intermediates of corn stalk. However, ethanol was involved in the reaction to produce esters, phenols and aromatic compounds.
