For a long time, the green landscape in the middle school campus has been constructed in the wrong ways. Some emphasize the construction of teaching buildings and ignore the green landscape, which leads to the occupation of the green area by teaching buildings. Some blindly plant trees and flowers on the limited outside space of the campus to form an incongruous human-made landscape. Some mechanically copy, leading to the homogeneous green landscape in the different campus. The reasons are as follows: first, the school management does not know enough about the importance of ecological campus construction;second, the green landscape construction is not planned, designed and constructed at the same time with the school construction;third, there is no correct theoretical guidance(such as ecology, landscape ecology, etc.)during the planning and design process of campus green landscape. To sum up,it is imperative to explore an effective way of ecological campus green landscape planning and design in the new era.Under the guidance of ecology theory, this study takes the green landscape of Zhangjiajie National Middle School as the object, fully draws on the successful experience of ecological campus construction at home and abroad, and adopts the method of qualitative and quantitative to evaluate the current situation of its green landscape scientifically and objectively.Under the guidance of the Ecological Campus theory, the author re-designs the green landscape of Zhangjiajie National Middle School, such as the roads, landscape pattern, rainwater garden, sketch, lighting, plant configuration, and other aspects, forming a feasible ecological campus design plan.Although the green landscape system of Zhangjiajie National Middle School has been initially formed, there are still many deficiencies, such as unreasonable landscape layout, imperfect road system, poor drainage caused by hard ground, randomness, and monotony of plant configuration,a limited number of sketches and incongruity with campus culture, low green land rate and so on.In view of the above deficiencies, this design has constructed the green landscape pattern of "one axis, two belts, three waters, and seven areas," namely, one central landscape axis, two forest belts, and green corridors, three waterscape, seven functional areas including activity distribution area, teaching and research area, experimental teaching area, landscape leisure area, teachers and students living area, study and entertainment area and sports activity area. The road design takes humanization as the concept, keeping the main road and mainly adjusting the pedestrian roads in each area. The rainwater garden adopts the strategies of infiltration, detainment, and distilling to relieve the waterlogging, improve the water quality, and maintain the ecology. This design will also promote the treatment of sewage and the sustainability of groundwater resources. The sketch design takes Tujia campus culture as the concept to fit the local cultural characteristics and meet the life and learning demands of teachers and students. The lighting design makes simplification as the style to highlight the campus night scene. In the design process, theecological theory is always applied and combined with landscape ecology, landscape design, and other related theories to build an ecological campus as the ultimate goal. There are three chapters in this paper. The first chapter describes the research background, research scope, research purpose and significance, research methods, and framework. The second chapter introduces the current situation of campus planning, design positioning and principles, and design philosophy and methods. In the third chapter, under the guidance of ecological theory, the campus green landscape is designed. It is hoped that the research in this paper can play a guiding role in the campus planning and design of surrounding middle schools.
