Study On The Environment Of Soochow Academy Garden

The Soochow Academy was the first one in the education reform of local official school,which was founded in the Northern Song Dynasty.In the development process of more than one thousand years,Soochow Academy has continuously provided talents for the country and cultivated civilization for the local area,laying the foundation for the humanistic height of Soochow,which is the source of civilization of Soochow since the Northern Song Dynasty.In the long history of educating people,Soochow Academy has derived the thousand year old Garden culture of Soochow Academy.Soochow Academy garden environment is the representative of southeast academy garden,which can be called the model of Confucian landscape.For thousands of years,there have been too many literati that forming a mutual historical relationship between the literati and the gardens.In this case,the subtle educational function of Soochow Academy garden environment can not be ignored,and its value of environmental education is worth exploring.From the perspective of academy garden,this paper comprehensively studies the environment of Soochow Academy garden,in order to build a relatively complete history of changes in the environment of Soochow Academy,analyze the characteristics and cultural connotation of the environment of Soochow Academy,and simultaneously explore the contemporary value of the environment of Soochow Academy,so as to make the past serve the present and provide a useful reference for the construction of contemporary campus landscape.Specifically,this paper is based on the poems,ancient books,inscriptions,pictures and local records of Suzhou's ancient scholars,comprehensively combing the changes of Suzhou's garden environment with time as the clue.Combining the analysis of historical documents with the field investigation and analysis of the existing relics of Soochow Academy,this paper tries to restore the stage landscape of Soochow Academy.It includes the scale and pattern of each historical period,the composition and layout of buildings,the landscape of gardens,the ecology of water system and so on.Finally,it draws the conjecture map of each stage of Soochow Academy,presenting the environmental change process of Soochow Academy for thousands of years in a more intuitive way.Through the research,it is found that the landscape environment of Soochow Academy has experienced the initial stage of the Northern Song Dynasty.And the death and revival of the Southern Song Dynasty.The space of the Yuan Dynasty have been development.And the development and finalization of the Ming Dynasty,and finally reached the comprehensive prosperity in the early and middle Qing Dynasty.And then disappeared and transformed in the final stage.On the basis of its environmental changes,this paper analyzes the ideological connotation of Soochow Academy garden environment include rhe "Ritual thought";the "theory that man is an integral part of nature";the "study the nature of things";the " Xiu,Xi,Cang and You",a spirit of Chinese Art;and the thinking of "exaltation of the virtuous";and a philosophy of the "look up to a worthy man;as one looks up to a mountain"and so on.Then,based on the analysis,the paper concludes the contemporary value of Soochow Academy Landscape environment and Its Enlightenment to the planning of contemporary campus.
