As one of the major natural disasters,earthquake disasters have no national boundaries,and the losses caused by earthquake or secondary disasters are incalculable.It is very important to analyze the seismic capacity of buildings for evaluating the impact and loss caused by earthquakes.Since the beginning of this century,the intensification of global integration and the progress of science and technology,such as the development and progress of GIS system,have enabled the collection and application of population kilometer grid data,economic GDP kilometer grid data,etc.,and the richer data support has greatly improved the feasibility of seismic capacity Division of global regional buildings.In this paper,based on the world housing Encyclopedia(who),the collapse rate of buildings with different structural types under different strength levels of earthquake,the distribution ratio of housing types in different regions,GDP km grid data,population km grid data,and administrative division data,a comprehensive division and classification method of seismic capacity of buildings in global regions is established.The seismic capacity of buildings in the world is classified and the global classification map is given.Because the different building types summarized by the world house encyclopedia have different distribution in the world,taking Asia as an example,according to the structural characteristics of buildings in different regions,the vulnerability of buildings in relevant seismic zones is obtained,and the seismic capacity of buildings is evaluated.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)Based on the statistics of the collapse rate of houses in 26 countries included in the world house encyclopedia,this paper gives the regional division of the global earthquake resistance capacity of houses.(2)Based on the population,GDP data and collapse rate zoning,a hierarchical theoretical model is established to classify the seismic capacity of global buildings by KM grid,and the classification of seismic capacity of global buildings by KM grid is obtained.(3)This paper summarizes the structural characteristics,seismic capacity and the most common failure types of 9 types of building structures,such as wood structure,stone masonry structure,reinforced concrete frame structure,etc.(4)According to the data of building type proportion,per capita living area and population in Asian earthquake prone countries,the building area of all kinds of structures is inversely deduced;according to the regional building seismic capacity classification and building seismic capacity,the seismic capacity of buildings in Asia is analyzed,and the evaluation results of seismic capacity of buildings in Indonesia,Japan,Turkey and Nepal are given.
