Research On Sustainable Design Of Street Furniture Based On Regional Culture

Street furniture is an important part of urban construction.In addition to its basic functions,it can and should become a local cultural symbol and reflect the local development concept.But at present,the street furniture has not achieve this very well.There are widespread problems such as similar styles,vague regional features and lack of systematic design.Based on the sustainable design concept,this paper analyzes the street furniture from the aspects of parts exchange,functional integration,reduction of material types,material saving,etc.,strives to extend the life cycle of its facilities or materials and can form a unified style.At the same time,two methods of extracting cultural symbols and expressing context and meaning are used to study the cultural attributes of street furniture,so as to provide specific methods for reference in the integration of street furniture design and regional cultural characteristics.Street furniture is not isolated between sustainable design and the way to integrate regional culture,but is integrated with each other to provide solutions to existing problems.Finally,taking street furniture design of Hubei Province as an example,to extract the Chu culture in the most representative of phoenix bird graphics and Chu vortex lines for semantic performance,combining with streetlight,bus station,trash can,bicycle parking bays and other function requirements,the modularization and intensity methods are design to make street furniture not only have the cultural characteristics of Hubei,but also become a testing ground for implementing sustainable design concepts...
