Research On The Application Of The Age-appropriate Design Concept In Urban Parks

Aging is a necessary process of social population development.At the beginning of the 21 st century,China has entered an aging society.For retired old people,the park is a good place to spend their leisure time.The quality of elderly outdoor leisure activities directly depends on the level of outdoor landscape design.Due to the special psychological,physiological and behavioral characteristics of the elderly,there must be special requirements for the design of the elderly's activities.How to make the urban park landscape better suit the spiritual and physiological needs of the elderly has become a problem that can not be ignored.Based on the theories of landscape architecture,environmental psychology,landscape ecology,botany and sociology,this paper investigates the development of urban park landscape design at home and abroad.Based on the analysis of the special group of the elderly,this paper puts forward the principle of aging design of urban parks,using the methods of literature review,questionnaire,and comparative analysis between China and foreign countries,and then combining with the representative cases of aging design of urban parks at home and abroad,it summarizes the design methods and means in the development of age-appropriate design of urban parks.It is mainly manifested in the unskilled design method of the aging adaptability of urban parks;in the design of the aging adaptability of urban parks,the landscape architecture,the river,pavement,architectural sketches are not in harmony with the physiological and psychological needs of the elderly,which can not meet the physiological and spiritual needs of the elderly.Based on the analysis and induction of the deep-seated causes and design mechanism of the above problems,the paper concludes that the design of urban park for the elderly is still at the stage of development,and points out the contradiction between the serious lag of urban park landscape and the growing needs of the elderly.Therefore,it is very urgent to design urban park for the aging.
