With the rapid development of nuclear industry, safety issues has been the basis for the existence and development of nuclear power plants.Human error is found to be one of the main contributors to accidents or incidents through statistical analysis of the causes. The main tasks of the operators is to control nuclear power plant directly through the instrument & control systems in main control rooms. Therefore, operators' performance plays a vital role in ensuring the normal operation of nuclear power plants. The evaluation of operators' performance not only can monitor their working state, but also reflect the various weaknesses of system through the indicators of performance. Thus, the establishment of an effective operator performance evaluation method has important theoretical and practical significance. This paper analyzes the necessity and the characteristics of evaluating operators' performance, the latter can be summarized as complexity,multi-level,and more emphasis on safety performance. In view of the features mentioned above, this paper focuses on several key technical issues such as the establishment of operators' performance evaluation index system, the allocation of index weights, and the construction of a comprehensive evaluation model. The specific research work lists as follows:First of all, factors which affects operators' performance are widely collected through literature review, statistical analysis is conducted as follows.Delphi method is applied to repeatedly consult experts' opinions, and a preliminary evaluation index system is established. After that, the relative importance of all indicators are acquired with questionnaire by consulting relevant front-line staff.Combined with the relative importance with expert opinions, the indicator system is optimized.Based on an depth analysis of the data acquired from various resources,6indicators were deleted such as the consistency of the human-machine interface in the preliminary indicator system,meanwhile,8 primary indicators and 30 secondary indicators was remained to construct the operators' performance evaluation indicator system.Secondly, considering the interrelationship between indicators,a combination of analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and DEMATEL method is used to obtain the index weights.AHP was used to obtain the initial weight while DEMATEL method captured the influence weight, through which, the optimized weights were determined.By explaining the reasons for the changes of the index weight in detail, the rationality and effectiveness of the optimized weight were verified.A non-linear weighted comprehensive evaluation model is established, the application results are compared with the subjective evaluation results to verify the validity of the model. Finally, the evaluation results are analyzed in detail. The validation shows that the evaluation method proposed in this paper can evaluate operators' performance more accurately.Furthermore, the evaluation results can reflect the possible weakness in the system.
