The high voltage power supply of piezoelectric transformer is used to drive the plasma generator as the research background.The design of a small high voltage power supply using piezoelectric transformer is the primary study.The developed high voltage power supply can successfully excite the plasma generator has been confirmed after a set of comprehensive tests.The plasma generator is driven by the designed high voltage power supply to produce argon plasma jet for the surface treatment experiment.The miniaturization of the design of high voltage power supply is an important factor that limits the level of integration and miniaturization of the whole plasma generator circuit.It was confirmed that the high output voltage and low output current of piezoelectric transformer match the excitation conditions of plasma generator very well.The piezoelectric transformer has the advantages of small size,simple structure,high-voltage resistance,is less susceptible to high-voltage breakdown phenomenon,exhibits small electromagnetic interference,retains high conversion efficiency,etc..Accordingly,the piezoelectric transformer is proposed to be used.as the high voltage power supply for the ionomer generator.Based on the piezoelectric transformer,the overall design of a small high voltage power supply for plasma generator is developed.The design briefly introduces the principle of using pulse frequency regulation to control the piezoelectric transformer to produce a high voltage excited plasma generator.According to the equivalent circuit of the piezoelectric transformer the simulation is carried out and the relevant characteristics of the piezoelectric transformer are analyzed.The design of the high voltage generating circuit composed of the following: piezoelectric transformer controller,oscillating circuit,driving circuit,sampling circuit,feedback circuit and protection circuit.The design is described in detail so as to develop the small high voltage power supply.Through the test the high-voltage power supply can stably output the sinusoidal AC voltage with the amplitude of 2.0kV and excite the plasma generator to produce the argon plasma jet.The results prove that the piezoelectric transformer can be used in the small high voltage power supply of the plasma generator.The piezoelectric transformer has the following advantages: Small size,light weight,in line with the development trend of miniaturization and integration of electronic products;high conversion efficiency-the average conversion efficiency is more than 10% higher than the electromagnetic transformer;high voltage resistance;resistance to short circuit;minimal anti-electromagnetic interference;enhanced stability and reliability.The Piezoelectric transformer has important practical significance in driving circuit of small plasma generator.
