UHV transmission is developed vigorously in our country.Monitoring the running state of the UHV transmission is one segment of the most important.Previously,we use a series of vision methods to monitor the state of the UHV transmission towers,and a series of electronic methods to detect faults on the UHV transmission line between towers.Either way mentioned above has its disadvantages.In this essay,we study a method based on sound source localization technique to help monitor the running state of the UHV transmission towers.Due to the way how sound transmit in the air,we can make up the disadvantages.Meanwhile,it happen to coincide with the trend of developing smart grid of our country.This paper first researches the background and significance of the UHV transmission tower running state monitoring.And analyzed current status at home and abroad of the UHV transmission tower running state monitoring.The following contents are completed based on this:1)Data collecting platform is built,and the sound of the units on the UHV transmission tower and around UHV transmission tower are collected.Analysis of the frequency of those sound are made.And the range of the frequency is confirmed.2)Two kinds of algorithm are analyzed.Built the experimental system and compare wideband MUSIC algorithm and maximum likelihood estimation algorithm and proved that the latter one performed better.3)UHV transmission tower running state monitoring system is designed.Accomplished the design of the hardware and software.Prototype is built.
