Human demand for energy is gradually increasing,and offshore oil and gas exploitation is an important way to solve this problem.Offshore oil rigs are the main equipment for mining offshore oil and gas.The drilling platform needs to meet the requirements of stability,sensitivity and safety for offshore operations.The propulsion system of the semi-submersible drilling platform is an important guarantee for the smooth operation of the entire platform.The cooling system is an important part of the propulsion system.The main function is to cool the propulsion system and ensure the normal operation of the propeller.With the development of power electronics technology and the continuous improvement of ship automation level,the frequency conversion speed control technology has made rapid progress,and the frequency conversion control seawater cooling system has been widely used in ships and drilling platforms.This paper studies the frequency conversion control and energy saving benefits of the cooling system of the drilling platform.First of all,this paper summarizes the current development status and future development trend of the cooling system technology of drilling platform,and points out the significance of studying the cooling system energy saving of drilling platform.Taking"offshore oil 982" semi submersible drilling platform as the research object,the composition and technical parameters of the propeller cooling system of the platform are introduced.The cooling system of No.1 propeller of the drilling platform is studied in detail,and the working principle,working process,control mode and method of the cooling system are analyzed in depth.Modular modeling method is used to model the cooling system of thruster in different modules.The main sea water pump frequency control model,central cooler model,cooling equipment model,and system pipe network model are established respectively.Then the models are combined to form the overall cooling system model,and the accuracy of the model is verified according to the working environment of the drilling platform.According to the mode of traditional cooling system,the seawater cooling system of No.1 propeller of drilling platform is built as a comparison group.Then,taking the power frequency working condition of the cooling system and the traditional cooling system as the control group,two important changing conditions of seawater temperature change and propeller load change are set as the simulation conditions,and the simulation experiment and comparative analysis are carried out.It is concluded that the cooling system does not meet the operation requirements of the cooling system when working at power frequency,the traditional cooling system and the frequency conversion control cooling system can meet the stable operation requirements of the system,but the frequency conversion cooling system has better energy-saving effect.Finally,according to the actual operation data of the drilling platform and the simulation experimental results of changing working conditions,the simulation simulation is carried out.Taking the traditional three-way valve control cooling system as the control group,through calculation and analysis,it is concluded that the frequency conversion control seawater cooling system can save 26.8%energy compared with the traditional power frequency three-way valve control cooling system under normal operation conditions.
