A Comparative Study Of Wen Zhenheng's And Li Yu's Thought On Gardening

Wen Zhenheng and Li Yu are the garden theorists and practitioners who thought about the garden comprehensively in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.By using the method of comparison,the thesis makes a deep exploration of their novels,opera theories and poems,especially their works "Long Wu Zhi" and "casual love occasionally sent",explores their gardening techniques,intentions and cultural roots,and seeks for the same In order to expand the research and thinking of gardening thought in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty,we should analyze the differences.This paper explores and compares Wen Zhenheng's and Li Yu's gardening thoughts from six aspects:social background and life,gardening elements,gardening techniques,gardening concept,gardening aesthetics and artistic conception,and contemporary significance.The research shows that,on the one hand,Wen Zhenheng and Li Yu reveal the common aesthetic law of Chinese garden,painting,literature and other art categories,and show the ideological nature of literati's garden.Both of them pay attention to learn from nature,follow the object image,balance the layout,and create a garden space suitable for meeting and visiting and keeping healthy.On the other hand,wenzhenheng's and Liyu's gardening thoughts are different because of their life experience,class status and aesthetic ideal.Wen paid close attention to the details and character of the garden,and listed many factors of building the garden.In the process of building the garden,he emphasized the nature of literature and spirit,while Li analyzed many ways of building the garden,which reflected the strong rationalism,and tended to be practical and innovative.The difference between the two gardening ideas truly reflects the richness of the garden style in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty,and provides an accurate basis for the study of the deep reason of the difference of the garden style at that time.Summing up the similarities between Wen Zhenheng's and Li Yu's gardening ideas,we can find that their gardening ideas are deeply influenced by the society and have the characteristics of the times,which can reflect the general consensus and law of gardening in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.The difference between them shows the freshness and reality of history,and reflects the different tendency of garden practice in value orientation and practice operation.The comparative study of Wen Zhenheng's and Li Yu's garden making thoughts is conducive to the formation of a dynamic and personalized garden building system,the promotion of different garden making discourse systems to build new ideas and concepts in the fusion,the deepening of contemporary understanding of the garden making ideas in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties,and the provision of a variety of practice models for modern garden landscape design.
