The Promotion Of Informal Social Support For Seafarers In State-owned Enterprise

With the acceleration of globalization,frequent international exchanges and rapid economic and social development,China's navigation industry is also making an indelible contribution to the promotion of Global trade and economic development.As an important strategic resource of the country,seafarers play an important role in promoting the construction of a powerful maritime country and the development of water transportation.To pay attention to seafarers,we should not only pay attention to the problems that seafarers encounter in their career development,but also to the problems that seafarers have in their social life.Because of their special occupation,seafarers need to work with ships for a long time,drift outside and stay away from the land society for a long time,which makes seafarers bear tremendous pressure both physically and mentally.Thus,it is the proper meaning of social work methods to intervene in seafarers social problems by actively paying attention to seafarers social problems,understanding seafarers social needs and helping seafarers out of their predicaments.Using social work perspective and methods to analyze and solve seafarers social problems can not only help seafarers get out of trouble in time,but also improve seafarers' ability to cope with problems.In this case,the use of social work methods to help seafarers obtain stable social support can not only maintain their physical and mental health,improve seafarers self-help ability,but also provide new ideas for finding solutions to seafarers' social problems,and promote the stability and development of seafarers ranks while raising seafarers social attention.In this paper,we use self-filling questionnaires in the research methods and take the D company of state-owned enterprises as an example to understand the current status of social support for seafarers in state-owned enterprises in China,and analyze the current needs of seafarers in three aspects:informal social support,formal social support and utilization of social support.Considering the feasibility and operability of social work methods in the intervention of seafarers social support,three representative cases were selected to intervene in the process of practice,with the promotion of the level of informal social support of seafarers in state-owned enterprises as the main entry point,guided by the theory of seeking treatment,the theory of superiority perspective and the theory of social support.Through the professional services provided by social workers to the three cases,the three cases solved their respective problems in social support,improved their ability to cope with social support problems,thus improving the level of social support of the three cases,and also proved the positive role of professional social work in dealing with the social support problems of seafarers.Finally,through summarizing the cases,three suggestions are put forward:establishing seafarers social work service institutions,building seafarers social support network and organizing multi-cultural activities in order to promote the application of social work in seafarers groups,enhance seafarers social interaction and social support level,and promote the professional development of seafarers social work.
