The main task of a port-working tugboat is to assist large vessels in entering and leaving a port or wharf as well as shifting berth in a port(anchorage).The continuously increasing tonnage and quantity of the vessels entering and leaving ports requires more reliable propulsion plant of port-working tugboats.The full-rotation tugboats are the main force of port-working tugboats and the design and selection of their propulsion plants determines not ouly their power performance,but also the running efficiency of harbors and the operation safety of large vessels.This thesis completes the design and selection of one certain full-rotation tugboat,s propulsion plant,following the study route of selection of capacity,selection design,general design and engine room tour inspection,and does the following research:(1)The author selects the Lanshan port area of Rizhao Port,Shandong Port Group Co.,Ltd.as an example,studies on how to reasonably match the port-working tugboat fleet and puts forward an optimization scheme.Hereby the study object of this thesis has been determined,which is the 5,000hp full-rotation tugboat.(2)This thesis analyzes full-rotation tugboats' self-propulsion and pushing operation conditions at the same time,focusing mainly on pushing operation condition and finishes the matching of hull,propeller and main engine and the selection and design of the propulsion plant by utilizing bollard thrust calculation and trial voyage speed calculation to conduct verification.Yanmar 6EY26W is selected as the main engine and the Rolls-Royce AQMUS205-P20 as the propeller.(3)The following work has been completed:installation design of main engine and shafting,improvement of ship's main propulsion system,overall design of the propulsion plant,optimization of tugboat and engine room layout,drawing of a 5,000hp full-rotation tugboat general layout and its engine room layout.(4)The 5,000hp full-rotation tugboat engine room routine tour inspection route has been plotted,tour inspection standards of the selected equipment have been summarized,and suggestions about maintenance have been offered.The following are the thesis' innovative points:In addition,taking the particularities of full-rotation tugboats into consideration,this thesis analyzes both self-propulsion and pushing operation conditions during the process of design and selection.At present,most domestic scholars who conduct relative researches on selection design select the pushing operation condition and utilize empirical formula to do estimation,while this thesis takes a specific ship as an example,analyzes two conditions at the same time,compare analysis data,optimizes design scheme and fills to some degree the void of relative researches at the micro level.
