Valve is the control component in the fluid transportation system of petrochemical,metallurgy,electric power and marine oil extraction.It has the functions of diversion,cut-off,regulation,throttling,reverse flow prevention,diversion or overflow pressure relief,etc.Valve products have a high degree of serialization,the same series of valve products with different sizes,the same structure or similar characteristics.Using parametric design technology to design valve products can greatly improve the design efficiency.Model based definition(MBD)technology is the latest development of product digital definition technology,aiming to build a full 3D product model integrating design and manufacturing information.This paper introduces the related theory and modeling method of MBD technology,takes the typical valve product butterfly valve as the research object,carries out the research on the valve product parametric design technology based on MBD,and develops the prototype system.First of all,according to the design and structural characteristics of products and the assembly relationship between parts,according to the modeling requirements of MBD technology,the concept of structural design unit is further expanded to complete the division of valve product structural design unit based on MBD.Secondly,according to the general organization specification and modeling method of MBD data set,considering the modeling requirements of parametric model of parts,the content composition of MBD data set and related modeling rules and requirements of structural design unit are determined.On this basis,the parametric design process of valve product based on MBD is given,and the parametric design technology of valve product oriented to automatic assembly is mainly studied.Then,combined with the design environment of general 3D CAD software,the parametric modeling technology based on MBD is studied.According to the MBD data set modeling specification,the design parameters,various constraints and design and manufacturing information are defined,and the MBD parametric model of valve product structure design unit is established.Finally,on the basis of the above research,the prototype of the valve product parametric design system based on MBD is constructed.By defining the product design process navigation tool,the automatic assembly synchronized with the design process is realized.Research of Parametric Design for Valve Products based on Model-based Definition,integrating MBD technology with parametric design technology,the full 3D valve product design is realized.It can generate valve product model containing design and manufacturing information and make it the only data source for subsequent design and manufacturing links.It is of great significance to further improve the efficiency of product design and ensure the consistency of product design and manufacturing information.
