The western region is in a critical period of economic restructuring.The energy structure in the western region is mainly fossil energy.With the promotion of the strategy of "Western Development" and "One Belt and One Road",heavy chemical industry has been developing vigorously.As the production base of primary products,the industrial system in the western region is dominated by traditional resource-based industries such as mining industry,raw material processing industry,etc.,with high energy consumption and obvious resource dependence.Excessive energy consumption and environmental pollution make the western region face a severe test.Coal-based energy structure is difficult to change in a short time,so improving energy efficiency has become the most important way to achieve energy saving and consumption reduction in the western region.The optimization of industrial structure is closely related to the improvement of energy efficiency and the sustainable development of economy.This paper chooses the western region as the research object to study the influence of industrial structure on energy efficiency in the western region,and puts forward reasonable countermeasures for the adjustment of industrial structure and the improvement of energy efficiency in the western region.This not only enriches the research on the relationship between regional energy efficiency and industrial structure in China.The theoretical results are also of great significance in promoting the economic development of the western region.Firstly,the paper combs the related research results of the relationship between energy efficiency and industrial structure at home and abroad.Secondly,it deeply analyses the current situation and existing problems of energy utilization in the western region.Thirdly,it analyses the current situation and existing problems of industrial structure in the western region from three dimensions:industrial structure upgrading,industrial structure rationalization and industrial structure efficiency.Fourthly,it calculates and decomposes the energy efficiency based on super-efficiency DEA-Malmquist model,and further analyses the characteristics of energy efficiency in the western region.Then it uses three kinds of painel data models,common model,growth model and elastic model,to make an empirical analysis of the impact of industrial structure optimization on energy efficiency in the western region.Finally,aiming at the existing problems and the results of empirical analysis,in order to improve the energy efficiency of the western region,reasonable countermeasures are put forward based on the perspective of industrial structure optimization.
