With the continuous enhancement of China's comprehensive national strength,China is developing rapidly in the field of aerospace,and the continuous development of space technology has also promoted the continuous advancement of communication technology.As a core part of the communication network,switching technology supports the normal operation of the entire communication network.With the continuous increase of network information and the increasing complexity of network switching technology,the performance requirements for switches are also increasing.Therefore,based on the analysis of many different switching technologies,according to the project “24-port on-board switch”,this paper designed a 24-port on-board switch based on Crossbar architecture to fulfil the special requirements of the project.The article first introduces the research background and the progress of switches in the aerospace field,and also briefly introduces the key technologies for switch research.Secondly,by analyzing the special needs of the project,the overall design scheme based on Crossbar architecture is proposed,and divided into different modules according to functions,each module is described briefly.Third,each functional module is designed in detail and expound its design idea.According to the data processing flow,modules such as interface design and processing,packet processing,queue management,bus control and queue scheduling,cross node and CPU interface are introduced in turn.Fourth,complete the code in Verilog HDL language,Through the system and scientific simulation to verify the function.Finally,build a board-level test platform,perform detailed functional tests on the overall design according to the design requirements of the project,At the same time,it also analyses and summarizes the various problems encountered during the test.The test results verify the feasibility of the design and the functional design meets the project requirements,and thereby achieving the desired objectives.
