The driver cannot correctly judge the circumstance of the pedestrian and non-motorized vehicles on the side of the large vehicles(semi-trailers,large passenger cars,cement concrete large vehicles,etc.)due to the presence of the Inner Wheels Difference,which can cause road traffic accidents.In recent years,a high occurrence rate of accidents was due to large vehicles right visual blind area,which has brought a huge loss for the people and society.The study of large vehicles right security issues have become an urgent and significant topic.Based on the investigation of the traffic accidents caused by the blind area of large vehicles,analysis the cause of accidents of the blind area when large vehicles turn right at the intersection.Analyzing the source of the accident in the blind area of the large car by Fault Tree Analysis,it is found the lack of safety awareness of the blind area of large vehicles,the lack of safety awareness of drivers and pedestrians and the lack of design of road intersections are the main causes of blind area accidents.For large car rearview mirror vision requirements and real vehicle test,the scope of vision that the driver's rearview can obtain were calculated:left rearview mirror from 0~22.86°,right rear view mirror is0~16.52°.Based on this field of view to analyze the"failure"mechanism of large car turning,an early warning system for the blind area of large vehicles with ultrasonic monitoring and visual aids is proposed,which can effectively eliminate the accidents that the driver does not find pedestrians or non-motor vehicles.By using MATLAB software,the model of large vehicles turning right was established,and a dynamic simulation of the right-turning process of the vehicle was carried out,and the formation mechanism of large car wheel was determined,which getting that the greater wheelbase and track,the minimum turning radius is smaller,the grater inner wheels difference,and the change of wheelbase has the most obvious effect on inner wheel difference.Combined with model car test and field test of large vehicles turning right,the change law of right turn sight blind area was studied when different vehicle parameters change,and modifying the turning track,simulating the turning process accurately,establishing the calculation model of sight blind area which work out the blind area of the six-axis large car is 40.39m~2.The safety evaluation index of road intersection is proposed based on large vehicle right-blind area.For three common forms of road intersection safety was assessed based on large vehicles turning right blind area of road intersection.The results show that compared with common intersection,right turn separation intersection has higher traffic safety.Finally,from the installation of blind spot warning system,road intersection optimization design,supervision and management of the transportation company and enhancing the safety awareness of traffic participants,it was put forward four effective prevention of large vehicles turning right vision blind prevention measures.
