In order to improve the safety of the use of large vehicles, but also to protect the lives and safety of citizens. In recent years, more and more researchers have been concerned about the safety of the use of large vehicles. Among them, the safety research of large vehicle turning is an urgent and significant issue.There are three main reasons for the traffic accidents in the turning process of large vehicles. First, the drivers of large vehicles do not operate according to the traffic rules or do not observe the occurrence of danger. Secondly, pedestrians or cyclists do not obey the traffic rules or passive occurrence of traffic accidents. In the end, the safety equipment in the turning process of large vehicles can not achieve the requirements of vehicle safety turning. This study from the perspective of improving the active safety of large vehicles, through the analysis of the reasons for the accident caused by the vehicle turning safety process, in order to develop a vehicle turning safety warning lights prototype as a starting point.In this research, the research of large vehicle turning warning lights is divided into four parts, scenario-based analysis research; design requirements and design elements analysis; the research of operation control system; prototype design and usability testing. The scenario-based analysis method research, researchers use the scenario-based analysis method to identify the requirements of prototype development of large vehicle turning warning lights. In the design requirements and design elements analysis, researchers based on the analysis of materials; the inner surface treatment analysis; the external surface treatment analysis and the light analysis of warning lights to provide design basis of the prototype design. The operation part of control system, researchers through the signal acquisition module, a central processing module and an execution module analysis, to solve large vehicles turn warning lights on the part of structure to realize the large turning vehicle warning lamp operation and control function. Then through the design elements of materials, inner surface treatment technology and external surface treatment analysis and light analysis, to provide design basis for the prototype design. Finally, researchers applied the research results to the development of the prototype of large vehicle turning warning lights, and the availability of the prototype of the warning lamp as functional products is verified through usability testing.
