Preliminary Study On The Concept, Theory And Practice Of Chongqing Modern City Planning In The Wartime Capital Period

From 1937 to 1945,Chongqing leaped from an inland provincial municipality to a ‘wartime capital.During this period,Chongqing’s urban construction activities were an important tenon-tenon link between the first climax of architectural practice before the war and the spontaneous continuation of the modern architecture after the founding of New China.For the process of Chongqing’s urban modernization in this period,there are not only the modernization of specific material level,but also the concept,theory and modernization of management system level.Therefore,this paper firstly takes the concept,theory and practice of modern city planning in the ‘wartime capital’ period as three clues,aiming to restore the development process of modern city planning in the ‘wartime capital’ period and find the driving force behind the promotion of urban modernization in Chongqing,through combing a large number of literature and first-hand historical materials.Secondly,the study will be placed in a larger space-time scope,comparing the situation of modern city planning before the war with that of wartime,launching a study on the modernization of modern Chinese modern city planning ontology,and clarifying the transformation of modern city planning as a discipline itself.The main body of the paper consists of three parts and five chapters.The first part is the historical process of modern city planning development at the national level before the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War;the second part is the status and development of modern city planning in Chongqing before the war;and the third part is the development and practice of modern city planning in Chongqing during the ‘wartime capital’ period.The first part is the second chapter independently.Putting the modern modern city planning in the background of modern society,culture,politics and economy,I combs the development and significance of modern city planning at that time in this chapter,so that we can better understand the situation of pre-war modern city planning in Chongqing.The second part and the third part make a comparative study on the concept,theory and practice respectively.The third chapter focuses on the concept and discusses the concept’s transformation and influence of Chongqing modern city planning before and during the war.Chapter IV focuses on the relevant theories of modern city planning,including the specific knowledge and system of modern city planning,combing the modernization process of modern urban governance in Chongqing,and analyzing the problems among them.The fifth chapter combs the changes of urban delimitation,spatial pattern construction and urban function construction,and combs problems of modern city planning practice change.The sixth chapter is the conclusion.Firstly,the development process of modern city planning is analyzed under the framework of overall modernization,so that the transformation process is obtained.Secondly,the characteristics and difficulties of modern city planning in Chongqing are discussed,which provides a possible direction for understanding the essence of urban design,and city planning.
