Abstract/Summary:
Urban village is a unique product of China’s urbanization process and plays an irreplaceable role in China’s urbanization process. With the continuous development of economy and society, the disadvantages of urban villages are constantly emerging. The existence of urban villages reduces the efficiency of urban land use, which is not conducive to urban land structure adjustment and urban function Transformation, and has also led to a series of serious social problems. The transformation of urban villages has become a common choice for large cities in China. However, the deviation of the value concept and the lack of practical experience have led to the transformation of urban villages to pay too much attention to the creation of material space, while ignoring the social effects of urban village Transformation. With the continuous deepening of urban village Transformation in major cities across the country, what kind of model should be adopted to transform urban villages has become as a principled problem in the transformation of urban villages, which has attracted the attention of city managers and academics.Based on the theory of urban renewal, game theory and human settlements environment, this thesis starts out a preliminary discussion on the transformation mode of urban villages in Lanzhou based on villagers’ cognition.Firstly, the thesis analyzes the quantity scale and spatial distribution characteristics of urban villages in Lanzhou City.On this basis, the thesis analyzes the current situation of urban village Transformation in Lanzhou City from the aspects of transformation mode, resettlement compensation and transformation progress.Secondly, the thesis analyzes the comprehensive satisfaction level of the villagers’ transformation mode of the original site, the relocation and transformation, and the comprehensive improvement of the urban villages, and analyzes the satisfaction of the sub-index from the aspects of human settlements, livelihood security and social impact, and identifies the affecting factors the of villagers’ satisfaction level.Thirdly, the thesis discusses the focus of the villagers under the three Transformation modes of urban village, and explores the differences in the focus of villagers under different transformation modes. Finally, based on the above analysis, the main problems in the transformation of urban village in Lanzhou City are summarized, and some suggestions are put forward. The main conclusions of this thesis are as follows:(1)There are a large number of urban villages in Lanzhou, and their spatial distribution shows obvious multi-central agglomeration characteristics.Lanzhou City adopts a classification reform strategy to transform urban villages. There are differences in the scale and spatial distribution characteristics of different types of urban villages. The resettlement compensation methods used in the Transformation vary according to the urban area in which the village is located.Under different transformation modes, the progress of urban village Transformation is different. The transformation of the original urban village is the fastest, the relocation is the second, and the comprehensive rectification is the slowest.(2)There is a significant difference in the satisfaction level of the villagers among different transformation modes. The comprehensive model has certain advantages in optimizing the living environment of urban villages, improving public service facilities, increasing the income of villagers, and maintaining the social relations of villagers and the rights of villagers. At the same time,it does not involve resettlement compensation. Therefore, the villagers have the highest satisfaction with the comprehensive improvement model. The original site renovation and relocation and transformation have shown certain advantages in improving the quality of villagers’ housing and improving the urban facilities of the village. However, they are not conducive to increasing the housing area and income of the villagers.Meanwhile the relocation and transformation have adversely affected the social relations of the villagers. Therefore, the villagers are more satisfied with the original site renovation than the relocation and transformation.Besides, villagers with higher education tend to have higher satisfaction with the original site transformation model that they are experiencing. The satisfaction of villagers on the relocation and comprehensive remediation model is not affected by the individual attributes.(3)There are obvious differences in the focus of villagers’ attention among different transformation modes.Under the original site transformation mode, the villagers’ focus is on the improvement of the living environment before and after the transformation of the village, the livelihood security of the transformation and the impact of its transformation on the public service and social network.Under the mode of relocation and transformation, the focus of the villagers is on the changes in the comprehensive environment of the villages before and after the renovation and the impact of the transformation on their interpersonal relationships.Under the comprehensive improvement mode, the villagers’ focus is on the changes in the living environment, social atmosphere and public security environment of the villages before and after the renovation,as well as the impact on the quality of life and participation in village affairs. At the same time, there are certain differences in the focus of attention of different villagers.Under the original site transformation model, older and less educated villagers are less concerned about livelihood security.Under the comprehensive improvement mode, the elderly villagers are less concerned about the level of change in the social atmosphere and security environment of the villages before and after the renovation, and their own participation in the village affairs.Villagers of different ages have different concerns about the living environment of urban villages.Under the relocation and transformation mode,Under the relocation and transformation mode, the villagers’ concerns about the changes in the comprehensive environment of the villages before and after the transformation and the influence on their interpersonal relationships are not affected by their individual attributes.(4)The problems of different transformation modes in Lanzhou City are different. The original site transformation and relocation and transformation modes mainly have problems such as low resettlement compensation standards and long transformation time. The comprehensive improvement model mainly has problems such as inadequate implementation of policy propaganda and lack of public participation channels. In the future, the transformation of urban villages in Lanzhou City needs to strengthen the following aspects: First, strictly implement the procedures for demolition after resettlement, and improve the resettlement compensation methods to fully guarantee the livelihood of the villagers after the transformation.Second, actively expand the financing channels, mobilize the market to participate in the transformation of urban villages, and strengthen the management of funds to ensure the smooth transformation of urban villages.Third, strengthen policy publicity and implementation, dredging channels for public participation, and protect the rights and interests of villagers.Fourth, optimize community services, strengthen the construction of color community culture, and actively guide villagers into urban society.
