The Past And Present Of The White Dagoba Temple

This paper is a historical anthropological study on the history of the White Dagoba Temple and the cultural changes in Liangzhou.It tries to explain the development and vicissitude of Liangzhou's culture through a diachronic discussion,which is included before and after the establishment of the temple and the reconstruction.Liangzhou has been of great strategic significance since ancient times,the continuation of silk road has accumulated profound history and culture for the development of this important traffic city.In 1247,the "liangzhou talks" was held,which made the ancient city shoulder a special sense of historical mission.Therefore,the social history,culture and other aspects of liangzhou took a great transformation.This paper consists of three parts: introduction,five chapters and conclusion.The introduction included three parts.The first part is the research summary of "Liangzhou talks" and the White Dagoba Temple.Secondly,the research significance of this paper is expounded through the vacant study of the White Dagoba Temple and the idea of writing.Finally,the research methods and theories involved in this paper are explained.The first chapter of this paper mainly combed and analyzed the historical situation and cultural exchanges in Liangzhou before the period of Meng-Yuan,pointed out that the blended history in this period provided the feasibility for "Liangzhou talks",and also promoted the in-depth communication and fusion between various ethnic groups,formed a diversified pattern of Liangzhou culture.The second chapter is a re-discussion of the "Liangzhou talks",which avoids the previous analysis of its background,discusses the potential of the strategic interaction between Mongolia and Tibet from the perspectives of the Mongolian royal family and the Tubo's society.Here also briefly introduced the process of the "Liangzhou talks".Then it argued Kuoduan's identity controversy with historical data.In the third chapter,writer compared and analyzed the various version about the origin of the White Dagoba Temple,and put forward own views firstly.Secondly,it connected the development history of the White Dagoba Temple in Yuan,Ming,and Qing dynasties.The fourth chapter mainly combined the data from field investigation and the related historical records to supplement the situation of the White Dagoba Temple in the last century.Answer that why did it need to rebuilt.The fifth chapter focused on the reconstructed the White Dagoba Temple.It included the current situation of the temple and the white dagoba village,the different views of the villagers on the temple and so on.It also discussed the differences before and after the reconstruction of the White Dagoba Temple,especially the transformation of its social functions,which means the sublimation of national culture.The Liu lama is also mentioned in the last section of this chapter,It is because of these eighteen generations,the history of the White Dagoba Temple is more thick.The final conclusion made a summary of the full text.Historical events are only a small unit of history.The integration and change of culture are behind the history which is connected by numerous historical events.Liangzhou's society has gone from multi-ethnic wars to unification,and the mainstream culture has also moved from the original multi-ethnic culture to the Tibetan cultural system with the evolution of history.To the end,it became a national culture that adapt to today's Times.
