The New Exploration On The Planning Of Living Streets In Superblocks Under The Idea Of Walkable City

Gated communities is the main mode of urban living space at present.With the concept of Small block system put forward,the openness between gated communities with open communities becomes more and more extreme.At the same time,the idea of private cars as the main trip mode is deeply rooted,pedestrian space in living streets is occupied,and traffic problems around communities are becoming increasingly prominent.A new street planning model is urgently needed,which can solve the problem of pedestrian traffic in communities and balance the openness of gated communities and open communities.Based on this,the government began to implement the new version of community design standards,reflecting the advocacy of the concept of Walkable City as the leading community living street.This idea has not yet been a mature planning method in China,but it has achieved remarkable results in Western countries.The planning model of living streets advocated can provide guidance and reference for the construction of community in China.The paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction.This part elaborates the research object,significance and methods.The second part is the research on the Relation between the concept of Walkable City and Living Street in superblocks.This part analyses the concept of Walkable city,Superblocks and the living street,and then puts forward the characteristics of the living street in Superblocks.The third part is the macro-perspective and the micro-perspective model research.On the macro-perspective,It summarizes the layout characteristics of the grid-type Living Street represented by "Superilles" and the mixed-type Living Street represented by "The Fused Grid",and puts forward the applicable conditions.Among them,the "Superilles" is suitable for the regular grid street network in the urban central area,and the communities should be dominated by multi-storey buildings of commerce mixed with residence."The Fused Grid" model is suitable for the mixed network with low density in the suburbs.It can be used as a reference for new residential areas and for the renovation of existing gated communities.On the micro-perspective,it is summarized as three transformation ideas: gathering less into more,simplifying complexity into simplicity,and transforming static into dynamic.The fourth part is empirical design.The two communities in Dalian were selected for investigation,and the "Superilles","The Fused Grid" mode and partial transformation mode were adopted for living street design.In the fifth part,the practical difficulties and Strategies of reconciliation are put forward to promote theplanning model in our country.The resistance to implementation in China is reflected in Ideological root,street form,laws and regulations,contradictions between relevant interest groups and so on.By borrowing the advantages of digital economy and shared economy,improving the relevant laws of urban planning,adopting the transformation methods adapted to local conditions,and clarifying the ownership and responsibility of various interest groups,we can make the transformation model of living street in superblocks becomes possible.Through the induction and analysis of relevant literature and successful cases,and comprehensive consideration of multi-disciplinary,this paper summed up the emergent planning and design methods,in order to further apply to our country’s practical research.On the theoretical level,the definition of Superblocks belongs to a new planning scale and concept.At the practical level,the ideas and modes summarized in this paper can provide guidance and reference for optimizing living streets of community.
