With the transformation and upgrading of China's industrial structure and the deepening of the development strategy of industry-education integration, new requirements have been put forward for the vocational education model and campus construction. The production and education complex is based on the "work-study combination" and intensive concept of vocational education, breaking the boundary between traditional teaching building, training building, and office building, and integrating education and industrial functions in the complex. This is convenient for students to switch between theoretical study and practical training, and reduce production costs for enterprises. The production and education complex includes various functions such as education, industry and related supporting facilities. Therefore, reasonable functional layout is crucial to the success of project design. This paper first analyzes the functional composition of the production and education complex, then studies the combination of the rooms of different scales, and finally analyzes the organization mode of the internal functions. In order to avoid mutual interference with each functional areas in the production and education complex. The mass of production and education complex is large, and public space is one of the important spaces within it.In order to promote the sharing of resources in the production and education complex, this paper focuses on the optimization design of public communication space. From the aspects of sharing functions in public communication space and space structure construction, how to optimize the design of public communication space.
