In recent years,events of airbag mistaken explosion under some circumstance occur often and often.We call this kind of explosion which is without intention of protecting passengers “airbag misuse”.Due to the unsafety of airbag itself,airbag misuse tests are getting more and more emphases by airbag and vehicle manufacturers.Among them,pendulum test simulates the case that a flying football and a loaded shopping cart hitting a car body.Test stands with patent at home are with a few deficiencies like costing too much energy,lacking generality and shortage of test ability.In this article we study the structure of pendulum test stand based on airbag misuse evaluation,in order to meet the specific internal requirements of the company during being impacted.According to the required functions we design the original structure.Analyze the weak parts of the test stand by CAE simulation results like stress and displacement cloud map and acceleration curves.Then strengthen the structure according to topology results.We redesign the test stand and redo CAE simulation.Compared with CAE results before,optimization turns out to be valid and meeting the requirements.Results of verification test confirms the reasonability of the test stand and the validity of optimization.In this article,design and CAE simulation of pendulum test stand are specifically introduced.The analyzing method of CAE simulation and way of topology optimization could be reference for the design of similar test stand.
