The tower was originally used as a symbol of Buddhist architecture and was introduced to China from India.Therefore,in a long historical period,the towers built in China were either Buddhist pagodas or tomb pagodas extended from burial halls.But in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,there appeared a kind of tower,Geomantic Tower,which was built according to geomantic doctrine and was built in a large number throughout the country.The construction of this tower was mostly influenced by the Han culture and Geomantic culture.So as to cultivate and supplement Fengshui,hoping that there would be more talented people,promote literary style,flourish imperial examinations or suppress disasters and pray for good fortune.Guizhou is different from other areas where Han culture gathers.It is a minority-dominated area,but it is one of the areas with the largest number of Geomantic Towers.However,at present,no publications or publications have been found to make detailed statistics on the number of Fengshui Towers in Guizhou.This paper will collect data from libraries,archives offices,literature databases and networks in various places by means of literature analysis,based on a large number of bibliographic books,local chronicles and academic documents,and supplemented by the data obtained by fieldwork.The 140 geomantic towers built in Guizhou during the Ming and Qing Dynasties were counted by the method of metrology,and the distribution tables of geomantic towers in Guizhou were made.From the perspective of historical geography,the distribution and characteristics of Fengshui Towers in Guizhou during Ming and Qing Dynasties were studied by comprehensive analysis.The main structure of the article is divided into four parts.The introduction part introduces the definition of the concept,the reason for choosing the topic,the significance of the research,the current research situation,the research methods and the technical route;the second part introduces the background of Guizhou Geomantic Tower,the main background of which is the influence of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism "three religions in one";the third part analyses the geographical distribution of Guizhou Geomantic Towers in detail,lists the distribution table of Guizhou Geomantic Towers,and makes it clear.The distribution of Geomantic Tower in the prefectures of Guizhou Province in Qing Dynasty and theGeomantic Tower in different periods of Guizhou Province are discussed in the fourth part.The distribution characteristics of Geomantic Tower in Guizhou Province are discussed,including the space-time distribution characteristics,geographical distribution characteristics,the morphological characteristics of Geomantic Tower and the humanistic characteristics of the construction of Geomantic Tower.
