Research On "Quan Heng Du Liang Shi Yan Kao" By Wu Dacheng During The Late Qing Dynasty

The Metrology plays a crucial role in the following aspects,Politic,Economic and Culture.Before Qing Dynasty,Metrology was mainly registered in the material,such as ley,history book and Shihuozhi.Never did it form a subject,until the trend of learning from west,the missionaries fetched the recent western metrology into China.Then the unique ritual and musical culture came into shape.During that process Feng Guifen,Ye Zaiyang and any other people did the related effort.Wu Dacheng did the initiative research by physical object in all aspects for the first time.He released a book “Quan Heng Du Liang Shi Yan Kao”.In his work,Metrology was firstly separated from the subjects of ley and epigraphy.It soon became the unique writing in Metrology,which connected the traditional and the latest Chinese Metrology.This article attempts to comb the form of book ‘Quan Heng Du Liang Shi Yan Kao',focus on “Huang Zhong Lv Guan Kao” and measure the object from the view of academic.In the first chapter,firstly,the reserch background of the lastest Qing Dynasty's metrology and means of study are introduced.In the second chapter,the process of completing the book is examined,which is aiming to clear the publishing time and the significance to the history of Chinese Metrology,from the following aspects like,Wu himself,publish time,background,method,thoughts,character and signicance.In the third chapter,derived from Wudacheng's work “Quan Heng Du Liang Shi Yan Kao”,the main and largest article,which inclued 3 partes,is discussed.In addition,the contents and related datas are proved.Furthermore,the possible error and causes are analyzed in Mr Wu's testing process.In the fourth chapter,the result measured by Wu is combed comprenhensively.The existing experiment data that the author find is published and come into form.The data is converted into modern measurement value.In the fifth chapter,the content ahead is conclued.Besides,the reseach result of Wu's book and writing skills are discussed.In the paper,there is also lack in the study of the book and still have lots of things to perfect,for example,the picture compared with the bronze ware which was donated by Wu's grandson,Wu Hufan;the intrest of Wu's academic and etc.Hoping that by studying Wu's work would it be a benefit to the research of the Metrology of Qing Dynasty.
