With the development of science and technology,noise has been paid more and more attention as an important part of environmental science.For vessels,the noise is becoming more serious with the horsepower increasing of the main engine and more equipment.The ship noise will exist consistently with the ship sailing.Fatigue and failure of hull structure and marine equipment will happen in the noise environment for a long time.The health of the crew and ship performance will be reduced by noise.It can save the cost of design and construction,shorten the construction period and improve the efficiency of the project to predict the noise in the vessel's living area at the vessel design stage.Therefore,it's significant and valuable to study on the noise reduction method of vessel's living cabins.This paper introduces the background of noise research,the requirements of rules,applicable conditions.The characteristics of outfitting materials and equipment are studied.Some methods of noise reduction are put forward and compared.The material cost involved in noise reduction methods is analyzed systematically.Based on the statistical energy analysis,the noise prediction and noise reduction countermeasures for the living areas are analyzed and studied.Taking the very large crude carrier(311K VLCC)designed by our company independently as the research object,to establish the finite element model and VA One model of the ship,then the main noise sources are analyzed.The sound pressure level of the main noise sources are estimated by the empirical formula.The noise in accommodation is predicted by the statistical energy analysis method,and then obtains the distribution law of noise.The sources and paths of noises are studied too.Comparing the methods of noise reduction base on probability theory and choosing one to carry out.Verified the method chosen on board,the noise predicted by using the statistical energy analysis method has a significant value for noise design and vessel construction.Moreover,probability theory can control the cost of noise reduction well.The study results of this thesis are complying with the trend of shipbuilding industry,having significant value to other shipyards.
