With the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, traditional rural tourism planning has ushered in a historic development opportunity as an important means of accurate poverty alleviation. As the core content of rural tourism planning, recreation space has become a hot topic. However, the current planning and design methods are limited by tools. It is impossible to realize the cross-regional collaboration of architects, and it is impossible to realize the participation of tourists in design, and it is impossible to obtain objective data of tourists' behaviors and needs, and guide the tourism recreation space program to make targeted adjustments..Therefore,it is of great significance to introduce a new set of planning and design methods by introducing interactive, immersive and conceived virtual reality technology into the planning and design of traditional rural tourism recreation space. This thesis adopts literature review, field investigation, empirical research and interdisciplinary research methods to construct a traditional rural tourism recreation space planning and design method supported by virtual reality, and demonstrates its operability through actual projects. The basic research part of the article discusses the necessity and feasibility of introducing virtual reality technology into the spatial planning and design of traditional rural tourism recreation. The research analyzes the constituent elements and influencing factors of tourism recreation space, and summarizes the shortcomings of existing planning and design methods. In addition, this study analyzes the features and key technologies of virtual reality technology. The main research part, focusing on the traditional rural tourism recreation space planning and design method under the support of virtual reality,is mainly divided into three parts: the “ theoretical framework — implementation operation — the practical application ” of the planning and design method. In the theoretical framework, the design principles, the participating subjects, and the constituent sections were studied. The implementation part is the core of the planning and design method. It is divided into virtual restoration of the current situation under virtual modeling technology, initial configuration of the virtual operation technology, solution experience feedback under the virtual experience technology, and adjustment of the program under the guidance of feedback data.four stages. In the current virtual restoration phase, the specific operational procedures and restoration methods are studied. In the initial phase of the scheme, the implementation methods of collaborative assessment, the specific methods of 3D design, and the evaluation criteria of model revision are studied. At the stage, theexperimental content, implementation steps and data collection methods of the experience were studied. The adjustment stage of the program proposed the basis, standard and specific method for the adjustment of the tourism recreation space. At the end of the study,Mengkougang Village of Qingyuan City was selected as the research object of practical application, and the design method of tourism recreation space planning based on virtual virtual reality was adopted. This paper extracts the advantages and disadvantages of the existing methods by studying and analyzing the existing methods of traditional rural tourism recreation space planning and design.Based on the research of virtual reality technology,a spatial planning and design method for rural tourism recreation based on virtual reality is constructed. To this end,it solves the problem of tourists' participation in feedback and scientific adjustment of programs, and provides useful enlightenment for the planning and design of rural tourism in China.
