Safety is the primary guarantee for the design,construction and operation of the nuclear power plant(NPP).And anti-seismic is one of the important factors of design considerations of the NPP.As an important transportation equipment to operate the new and the spent fuel assembly,the fuel handling machine(FHM)shall maintain the structural integrity in the earthquake conditions,besides being designed to meet the standard of the crane.The subversion would not occur to make the structure drop into the spent fuel pool,or make the load drop which would cause the radioactive leakage accident.So the design and research for a new fuel handling machine in nuclear power plant with a seismic analysis is very meaningful to prove the safety and reliability of the design of the FHM structure.This paper introduces the design idea of a new type of FHM,through the analysis of comparing the advantages of it with the previous one.At the same time,the software ANSYS finite element model of the FHM is established.Through the static analysis and response spectrum analysis,the displacement and stress of the equipment are calculated under the conditions of the deadweight and safe shutdown earthquake.And the evaluation is made according to the design specification requirements to verify the safety and reliability of the design structure under the seismic condition.
