Study On The Timber Bridges Reflected In Song Dynasty Paintings

During the Song Dynasty,the country's economic barycenter moved southward,and the balanced and coordinated economies between North and South gradually emerged.With the further development of social productivity,the technology of bridge construction has been improved,and the traffic engineering has entered a large-scale development period in both North and South.Therefore,the bridge construction has made great achievements.The architectural forms and structural techniques of bridges in Song Dynasty occupied a very important position in China.According to the remains of the paintings and documents,as well as some physical remains and archaeological materials of the bridges in Song Dynasty,the beam bridges,arch bridges,suspension bridges and pontoon bridges have been developed in Song Dynasty.At present,the research on bridges in Song Dynasty is limited in domestic and foreign academic circles.And the main research is about stone bridges.The study of timber bridges in Song Dynasty,except for the "Bianshui Hongqiao" in <Along the River During the Qingming Festival>,study on other bridge types is rare.This article starts with the relatively realistic works of Song dynasty paintings,first through the description of the background,to initially outline the general situation of the development of the Song dynasty paintings,and makes a further explanation of the concept of the court paintings of Song Dynasty and the " Painting Cycle" in the Song Dynasty.Then we will discuss the role of bridges in the Song dynasty paintings,and further analyze the objective composition of the paintingand the spiritual world of the artists.Then we will generally analyze the bridges in the Song dynasty,and summarize the expression methods of bridges and bridge categorization and thus narrow down the scope of the study to this special type of timber bridges-also the most important type of ancient Chinese architecture material to sum up;on this basis of the timber bridges reflected in the Song dynasty paintings will be taken as the research object,and respective researches on the architectural form,structure type,structure etc of the wooden bridges will be conducted.By comparing the timber bridges of Song Dynasty with Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties,we can find a profound relationship between later generations and Song Dynasty.Most of them were derived and developed on the basis of inheriting the bridges of Song Dynasty.In modern times,people have restored a great deal of bridges builted in Song Dynasty,because the culture of that time is memorable and valuable.And the innovative application of contemporary architecture inspired by the bridge structure technology of Song Dynasty is of great significance to the study of the timber bridges in Song Dynasty in nowadays.
