This paper aims to enhance the roles of the Ci poetry and paintings in the Song Dynasty of China in the history research of landscape design. The Ci poetry is already regarded as an "images library" to reconstruct the place’s atmosphere in landscape design by extracting the landscape images from the Ci poetry. On basis, this paper tries to reconstruct the certain landscape images from the Ci poetry. By analysing and summarizing the elements of landscape image, this paper selects "Bridge"——a typical and common landscape image in the Ci poetry——as an example to reconstruct its landscape plan and formation. However, in consider with the abstraction of textual materials, Ci poetry should be combined with paintings of Song Dynasty in the study. This research finds that, On one hand, The limitation of Ci poetry lies in——there are few of the poems directly expressing a bridge’s form and details after all, and most of them are just abstractly describing. Even with accurate shape and information of details, the reconstruction of specific image needs references and complements from pictorial materials. On the other hand, Ci poetry of Song Dynasty is more prominent as an obbligato source of information for the certain objects lacking of pictorial materials or historical notes. Firstly, Ci poetry often reveals the characteristics of bridges’landscape. Secondly, it also records their forms and details as fragments.
