A Probe Into The Inheritance And Innovation Of Guangzhou Hong Merchant Garden Style

The Hong Merchant gardens generally refer to the business income of the thirteen-line merchants in the Qing Dynasty using trade with foreign merchants to build private houses in Guangzhou and nearby areas to meet the functional needs of their own life,travel,business and political banquet entertainment.In the process of gardening,traders learn Western construction techniques and art culture,while maintaining the essence of traditional Lingnan gardens.It is the pinnacle of the development of Lingnan classical gardens.It is a model for Chinese gardens to blend art and culture between China and the West.Today,there is almost no preservation of the Hong Merchant Garden,but a large number of historical pictures record the glorious history of the Hong Merchant Garden.By collecting and studying historical documents,pictures and data of Guangzhou commercial gardens,this paper restores some fragments of commercial gardens into three-dimensional images by means of image processing.Combining with the gardening factors of the Hong Merchant Garden in Guangzhou,this paper studies its style and strategy.Combined with the innovative development case study related to the Hong Merchant Garden,this paper explores the inheritance and innovation of the landscape style of the Hong Merchant Garden in modern lingnan gardens.Its purpose is to provide references for the study of landscape architecture of Hong Merchants,improve the study of Lingnan landscape architecture system,and study the inheritance and innovation of the style of the Hong Merchant Garden in modern Lingnan landscape design.Deeply influenced by The Times,the Hong Merchant Garden made important contributions to the development of Lingnan Garden and even the whole China at that time.It is a treasure of Chinese traditional culture.However,none of the commercial gardens are preserved intact nowadays.In the second chapter of this paper,the characteristics and commonness of the commercial gardens and the traditional lingnan gardens are compared through the analysis of the objective factors of the natural environment and the historical environmental factors of the commercial gardens in Lingnan.In the third chapter,based on the above comparison,four characteristics of the Hong Merchant Garden are obtained: publicity,openness,sightseeing and entertainment.According to the characteristics of the study and the modern Lingnan landscape design strategy reference.In the fourth chapter,combined with several modern Lingnan gardens were analyzed,and research its landscape strategy in theapplication of modern Lingnan gardens,explorethe the Hong Merchant Garden landscape in the inheritance and innovation of modern Lingnan garden style reference guide.This paper is a more systematic arrangement and exploration of the Hong Merchant Garden.How to realize the continuation and inheritance of traditional gardening techniques in the concrete practice of garden creation nowadays is a subject widely concerned and studied.As an important part of Lingnan garden,the author hopes to promote the corresponding protection strategies of Lingnan gardens through the related research on the characteristics of the style of the Hong Merchant Garden,which will be helpful for the exploration of the inheritance and innovation of Lingnan traditional landscape architecture style.
