A Preliminary Study Of Aldo Rossi's Typology

Building typology is a hot topic in today's architectural world.It is a discipline that studies the relationship between abstract types and concrete architectural creations.It covers a wide range of fields such as history,geography,culture,psychology,and collective memory.Architects try to use Typology theory explores buildings that conform to the times and regions.Aldo Rossi is an architect with an important influence in the contemporary international architecture community.His typology theory has received extensive attention from the world of architecture.This thesis takes Aldo Rossi's typological thought as the research object,and interprets Rossi from three aspects: source background,ideological theory and practical works.At the source level,this paper analyzes the various factors that influence the formation of Rossi's typology,including the regional background and personal experience.On the level of ideological theory,this article is based on Rossi's two most famous works," The Architecture of the City" and " A Scientific Autobiography ",summarizing the characteristics of his typological thoughts as close as possible to the original text,and The ideological characteristics have made some new angles of interpretation.From the core vocabulary of these two works,we understand Rossi's position,vision and building typology,and summarize the key points of Rossi's typological thinking.In order to further highlight the uniqueness of Rossi's typological thoughts,it also made a comparative study of Rossi's typological thoughts and other typological ideas.In terms of practical works,this thesis extracts some of Rossi's main works.From the perspectives of creation theme and formal technique,this paper makes a preliminary study on the typological thought embodied in Rossi's own works.This article also summarizes the application of its formal techniques.Finally,the author affirms the enthusiasm of Rossi's typological thoughts,and puts forward the practical significance of Rossi's typology thought in China.
