With the rapid development of BIM in the domestic engineering field in recent years,the theoretical research and engineering application points of BIM have gradually become clearer,and research and engineering application hotspots have also begun to spread from the building construction field to bridges,roads,tunnels and other projects.In bridge engineering,steel structure bridges are self-contained due to the characteristics of industrialization,assembly and digitization of their components,but domestic BIM has little research on the application of such bridges.In view of the difficulties in design and construction of steel structure bridges with complex spatial position and complex node structure,this paper attempts to introduce BIM technology into the design and construction stage of steel structure bridges from the basic concept of BIM,and explores the application of BIM technology in its three-dimensional design and auxiliary virtual construction stage.This paper mainly includes the following aspects of research:(1)Introduce the background,purpose and significance of introducing BIM into steel structure bridges,and summarize the current research status of BIM application at home and abroad.Subsequently,systematically compare Revit and Tekla’s two mainstream BIM software based on the BIM concept.In order to realize the data transfer between Revit and Tekla software,the Tekla model was imported into Revit software by loading plug-ins,and a BIM-based steel structure bridge application framework was proposed.(2)On the basis of familiarity with the Revit secondary development method and the Revit API achievable function,the secondary development of Revit software enables rapid modeling of steel truss bridges,and combined with the actual engineering drawings of the Huzhou Railway Bridge,the Revit model was created by the aforementioned plug-in to verify Its feasibility and efficiency.(3)The structure of the main bridge model is analyzed by Midas software,and the analysis results are returned to the BIM design model.Subsequently,the BIM design model of the steel structure bridge was established by means of parametric building and collaborative design,and the construction information of construction machinery and temporary facilities was added for the BIM model to compare the construction hoisting schemes.These works aim to verify the feasibility of the BIM application framework for steel structures in the previous section.(4)Finally,this paper elaborates the efficiency and convenience brought by BIM technology for the construction of a bridge project from the aspects of design problem verification,manufacturing and pre-assembly,construction schedule simulation and quality control,engineering quantity statistics,BIM+3D printing technology and BIM collaborative management platform,and quantifies the results of BIM technology in terms of economic benefits,communication efficiency and project management information combined with the actual project.
